Live Life Feet First!

Ever have that feeling at the end of a wet hike where you can’t wait to kick off your soggy, heavy boots?

You’ll never feel that again when you wear the Scrambler Mid II WP. They’re not just waterproof – they’re so lightweight and breathable that you might forget to take them off.

River, Rain, and Puddle Ready

100% waterproof and planet positive, the eVent® BIO technology membrane will ensure your feet remain dry and comfortable no matter what the conditions.
Made with highly-renewable plant-based materials*, this breathable, lightweight moisture-wicking membrane is tough but flexible.
We’ve paired it with our tight-weave abrasion-resistant, yet breathable mesh upper so you’ll have a truly dry & happy experience on all your adventures.

Like Wearing Mountain Bike Tires on Your Feet

Scrambler Mid II WP is a collaboration with Michelin, the car and bike tire company.

The thin Michelin fiberlite technology in the sole gives unparalleled strength, flexibility, and lightness. Plus, with mud-shedding lugs inspired by Michelin’s high-performance mountain bike tires, you feel the confidence that comes with incredible grip.

Extra Protection with an "Illusion"

The Scrambler Mid II WP may appear to have a thick sole, leading you to assume that Xero Shoes has sold out.

Far from it. While the boot has a thin layer of our TrailFoam™ to provide extra comfort and protection on rough trails, the thick sole is an illusion created by our design team to make this look like a conventional hiking boot. You get the lightweight flexibility you’ve come to expect from Xero Shoes. Averaging 283g per boot (women’s 5.5), a pair of the Scrambler Mid II WP weighs less than just one single boot from most other companies.

Like all our shoes, the Scrambler Mid II WP is made to give you season after season of outdoor fun and is covered by our 5,000-mile sole warranty.

*About eVent®:
Designed to withstand any weather condition, eVent®BIO Footwear is a waterproof and planet-positive laminate that combines cutting-edge technology with highly renewable plant-based materials. Derived from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp, BIO Footwear offers good abrasion resistance, ensuring your shoes stand the test of time.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

Sizing
Sizing with Xero Shoes can be a little confusing. At ProAdventure, from our shoe fitting experience and based on accepted shoe sizing, we have converted the US sizing to the actual UK size equivalant in column one of the chart below. We recommend ordering your usual UK size based on this first column. We have also included the size that Xero print on the box as their UK label size in column three - please don't order based on the Xero UK Label size unless you have previously bought based on their sizing. If you want to get the best fit there is only one way and that is to try them on. Shoe size and fit varies enormously so buying online will always be a lottery. We would always encourage customers to come to the shop to try them on but we are aware that this isn't always possible.
For sizing advice please feel free to contact us via the livechat, phone or email.
That said, if you already know what size you need in this boot then that is great.

Barefoot and Minimalist Footwear

Barefoot and minimalist shoes have become increasingly popular in recent years. So what is it all about?
The basic idea underlying the whole concept is that the best thing for your feet is to be unencumbered by footwear, whether you want to run, walk, go to the gym, play sports or just go about your daily life.

"The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art." Leonardo da Vinci

One-quarter of the bones and joints in your entire body are in your feet. Additionally, you have more nerve endings in your soles than anywhere but your fingertips and lips. This means your feet are meant to bend, move, flex, and feel the world. Comfort and performance come from letting your feet do what they’re meant to do, naturally.
So ideally you wouldn't wear any shoes at all! In fact, one study found that barefoot walking can improve balance and postural control in healthy young adults, and another study showed that barefoot walking can increase gait efficiency and reduce the risk of falls in older adults.
In practice many people find it impractical or uncomfortable to go barefoot all the time, so "barefoot" shoes were born!

Barefoot/minimalist shoes typically have a number of characteristics which distinguish them from other shoes:
  • Zero drop (non elevated) heel to allow for a natural posture
  • Wide toe box to allow your toes to spread out and relax
  • Thin soles. Little or no cushioning can give you a just-right balance of protection, while still giving the ground feedback your brain needs for efficient, natural movement. Low-to-the-ground for balance and agility.
  • Light and very flexible to let your feet bend and move naturally.
  • No support. Barefoot shoes deliberately leave out any kind of support. The means that the foot (re)learns to support itself. It grows strong and powerful over time.
Here at ProAdventure we are at the beginning of our journey with barefoot shoes, and hope to be increasing the range soon.
If you have any questions or would like more information about barefoot shoes please feel free to contact us via the livechat, phone or email.
